What is an NCI Extension Center?

An NCI Extension Center is generally a local church that runs classes teaching the NCI curriculum. Many pastors see the benefit of running an Extension Center to train and equip their leaders and congregation in a proven program that is fully accredited. Often these Extension Centers run as a night school and give students the flexibility of working toward their educational objectives without going to a full time campus. Students completing Extension Center courses can, if they desire, further their studies in other NCI Distance Education programs.

Who Should Enroll in an Extension center?

	Anyone who desires to learn more of God’s Word.
	Anyone who feels a call to develop themselves for ministry service, but finds a full-time program impractical.
	Lay leaders who wish to study God’s Word in a deeper and more systematic way.
	New Christians who want to lay strong foundations for their faith and service for God.
	Learners who prefer the classroom contact with a teacher and other students.

What is the Delivery Format of the Courses in an Extension Center?

NCI Extension Center courses involve teaching face to face in a classroom environment. Students follow NCI prepared course materials which require answering questions on a weekly basis. These multiple choice or short answer questions allow you interact with the material discussed in class and forms part of the students assessment. Some courses require a written assignment or a text analysis to complete the required assessment.

Some tutors may utilize small group discussions and group project work as part of the Extension Center learning experience. The course formats are at the Tutors discretion and depend on the suitability of the course to lend itself alternative styles of teaching.
